If you are building from 100 toward 10,000, a bought spike is the fastest way to look unhireable. The 0–100 authenticity score reads public signals. It is not a certificate and not a guarantee. Agencies use it to skip audiences that cannot actually see the post.

Signals we weigh

• Growth spikes

  Sudden follower jumps without corresponding content or mention volume are treated as purchased or incentivised growth.

• Engagement pods

  Reciprocal comment graphs, repeated emoji-only replies and tightly clustered timestamps lower the score.

• Comment quality

  Unique, language-appropriate comments weigh more than fire-emoji stacks. Low lexical diversity is a drag.

• Geographic mismatch

  If the media plan is Gauteng and the audience is 40% off-continent, the SA-audience filter and the score both move.

• Bot-like behaviour

  Uniform activity hours, impossible like/comment ratios and username entropy typical of farms are flagged.

• Charter alignment

  Buying followers, views or engagements is both a platform violation and an IAB SA Charter breach.
